Who sells the TSP MS3. Im thinking of maybe also do the heads at the same time now. Or maybe do a maggie setup. I dont know what I want to do, I just need more power.

Is the cam tunable on my A4 just with my other mods or is it too much for the street? Maybe a G5X2 is more like it?
Im considering a setup similar to this. Does anyone know????

Texas Speed Performance sells the MS3, their link is to the left of the page on this site.

How is it installing a Cam in these ZO6's? Does anyone know whats involved..
And if you were going to have a shop do it, how much do you think they would charge?

And one last quick question.. Does anyone have any hp numbers on the G5X2 cam (a before and after stock ZO6 would be great)

Thanks!

Bringing this thread back for a few good questions that were posed and NEVER answered. I am looking at purchasing the GX3 114 this week and was wondering how it does with nitrous and what a fair install price would be. Also, I see (and yes i used the search feature!) that some of you guys say you can buy the same kit from somewhere else other than LG for about half the price. If this is so, PLEASE tell me where I can buy a kit that is just like the GX3 114 and what the name of the kit is. I will only buy it if it the same. I don't want to buy a cam kit that is "almost" like the GX3 unless somebody has some better advice. THANKS GUYS!

Your right!
My old car was a 99 FRC with a weak H/C w/ 3.90 gear making 380RWHP and I would run consitant 11.50's.

I have a LG Z06 with a G5X2 and AFR 205 heads milled to 60 CC. I have read this post and everyone has their opinions on what will work, which is fine. I personally chose the LG package because Lou G races what he sells, and the quality of the LG components is second to none. I did not want to go with the G5X3 @112 as I would have had to flycut my pistons, and I did not want to go that route. I have all of the bolt ons, including a FAST 90 set-up and on the first tune I made 462 RWHP and 422 RW Torque. My car was very hot when we tuned it. I then took it to Pro Power Racing and the final numbers I out out at 13:1 AFR were 472.6 and 422.8. Both Lou and Tony M helped Bill at Pro Power finish off the tune. Mind you, if I ran the car a more lean (Like a lot of guys just to get a number), you can easily go up 20 RWHP and 10 RW Torque without a problem. It kept on pulling but I do not want it that lean. So, my 472.8 and 422.6 are without any dyno tricks. If you plan on doing the cam, I would get a 112 LSA as in my opinion, I like the sound a lot better. Plus, the power pulls lower in the RPM range. The G5X3 cam is nice as well, but as I stated before I did not want to flycut my pistons to get the 112 LSA. I do not believe that you will have to with 114 LSA, but check with Lou just to be sure. Please note that the set-up is what is key. I do not mix and match parts.

All in all, my car has excellent street manners and can put out 490 RWHP without question if lean it out. I have my dyno sheet and I can send it to you. Again, all the shops that I called were very professional and have strong reputations. These included LG, LPE, Mallett, MTI, and Cartek. In the end, I chose LG Motorsports and have zero regrets. Everything that Lou G and Bobby explained to me during numerous long telephone calls was exactly right on, as was everything Tony Mamo from AFR told me. They even spent time with ProPower on the final tune. I get compliments on the Z all of the time and I just went to a show and a guy with a brand new Ford GT (Heritage edition) came up to me and told me that the car was the best sounding car he has heard. Thanks Lou G and Bobby from LG Motorspots as well as Tony Mamo from AFR.

^ Awesome post!

I think when it comes time to re-do my car it'll be:

*Callaway Honker
*Fast 90/90
*AFR 205's @ 59ishcc w/ comp 918's (top end spring)
*G5-X1 or G5-X2 on a 112 (for lower range power)
*Possibly switch to LG headers for more mid range.

Don,

What do you think on the cam only deal? G5X2 or X3? 112 or 114 Lobe Sep? Thanks,

Don,

I'd go with the X3 on the 114. You don't need any valve relief with your stock heads, or even a set of aftermarket heads like AFR 205's, it makes gobs of power (high, low and in between ), and retains what I consider to be very good street driveability.

Thanks Don,

That was the way I was leaning. The kit seems expensive from LG, but I know it all works well together. What would a typical install run? I know they have to move the power steering rack so I will probably have to pay to realign the car as well. Will this cam work well without the headers? They will be next on the list.

I would wait until you have the money to do the headers along with the cam. With that big of a cam, you'll need the added exhaust flow the headers will give you in order to achieve maximum benefits. Also, you'll save somewhat on labor/tuning by having it all done together as opposed to piece meal. I'd give a few shops a call and ask what their charges would be to do the work. If I were you, I'd consider either Phil, who is down your way, or ECS, who is up my way, as they have no problem giving you a quoted price for the work.

I know the LG "kit" is a bit expensive. But do consider that all the components within it are of the best quality, so that is a great deal to do with it. Plus, factor in that these components are well "tested," so the results will be very consistant with what others have seen. That alone can't really have a price put on it.

Hi Fellas:
Just a comment, I have the LPE 500hp heads and cam package in my 03 ZO6. I chose the GT1 cam .631/.631
Avg Dur Int=276 Exh=303 Lobe sep=114.5 It is very streetable and at an idle the car rocks. When you get into the throttle at about 2500/3000 it screams to 7200. But then, I thought that is what high lift cams do. Oh, if I behave on the highway I mean like 70mph in high gear 28mpg is very achivable. It is even more fun when a new GTO a BMW wants to play. They get a great view of the exhaust pipes.

DavidP-
I thought that LPE no longer has the H/C package for C5's. Maybe I am incorrect, but when I spoke with Jeff at LPE he told me that they were not offering it. I believe that the cam you have is a 229/242 631/631. Either way, just clarifying for my own. LPE is a quality shop and I am sure that your car is nice.

A guy I know has the first LPE C6 Z06. It is pretty neat to say the least.
