Default Michelin Tires

I see a lot of references that using 315/30/18 rear tires work ok; and I assume you stay with stock 265/40/17 tires in front. This is with OEM rims.

In looking at Michelins do you recommend Pilot Sport or Pilot Sport PS2 tires?

I've used them both on my E-55 benz. Gotta tell you that you won't get more than 12K on those tires! I'm now running the Pilot all weather sport and am hoping to get a bit more mileage for the $$.

The Michelin PS2's are best for Vettes, especially if you occasionally track the car. The Pilot Sports are noisy and do not handle the twisties as well.

I recommend the PS2s. They look & run great. My Z is a daily driver so I needed something that can survive many miles. I've run 1/4 mile on them after warming them up and they work fine. View "My Corvette Photos" on the left & you'll see what they look like mounted. I have 275/40s mounted up front.

I just bought the PS2....my stocks actually had good treadwea left on them with 11k miles...just that two weeks ago I went autox'ing and yesterday to the drag strip....I would say that I need tires now... will be using the stock wheels and tires for events now.

If FS ovals came in 305/30R19 and 265/35/18 I would of bought those just for Daily driving....

PS2 gets my vote.

I like the look of the PS better, but they do not hook well for me in a straight line. My Kuhmo ECSTA V700s where much better in a line and the twisties. Rain? Well they are ok (PS) as I found out yesterday. IMO I say the PS2 (vs the PS1) as they are still cranking them out.
