The Big Brown Truck Dropped these Off Today!!!!!!
Corsa Touring Tigersharks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look how awesome these look!
Im thinking about painting from right behind the tips all the way to the H-Pipe with Black High Temp POR15. Do you think this is a good idea or bad?
It is supposed to:
1. prevent any corrosion (i know they are stainless)
2. Give a uniform look
3. Hide the exhaust system behind the rear fascia
4. Since the tigersharks are centered, the pipes that go to the tips are slightly visible to each outside of the tips. This should help hide the visible area as well.
Good Idea or Bad Idea? Opinions please...
Before this corvette, i had an S10 and i had exhaust pipes custom bent, unfortunately, they cant bend stainless, so instead they used aluminized steel. Well here in MI, the salty winters ate through that aluminized in about 2 years. When i painted this stuff on them when i had them redone, it lasted 3 years until i crashed it. Even later, I pulled the crushed truck apart and the pipes still looked great.

I get my Corsa Touring with Pro Series Tips from UPS on Monday, can't wait.
I got the Pro Series tips because of what you mentioned, I didn't like the pipes being visable going to the Tigershark tips the middle.

I did this on a previous cat back on a previous car (WS6 Trans Am) and the paint stayed on well. It just depends on whether or not rocks hit it because they definitely knocked some of it off but he rest was fine. The only problem is once you paint it you've painted it and it's hard to put it back if you change your mind. You probably know this but make sure you clean it really well and rough it up first. I like the idea of not being able to see all that metal back there. When mine got bad, I just taped around it and re-shot it on the car with more black (at least the places you could see).

Yup! thats what I did to mine. These are the very early Corsa Indy pro tips. I used a good quality Hi temp black black paint. Make sure you heat them up to set the paint or they will chip and peal. I used a very high heat ~ heat gun! Read the can!
