Default Damn this gets expensive.

Started posting in C5 for the first time in a few months now that it's nearing time to take mine out of storage.

Caught a few threads here and in C5 tech about mods...

Figured I'd start pricing out some parts for next year when I might have more money.

For starters I figure I'd start what everybody recommends for the A4 as a first mod.

3.73 diff-------------------------> $1899

Torque Converter ----------------> $729

That's already $2700

Then the other "cheap" performance mods:

Haltech Stinger intake------------> $339

Kooks X-pipe headers and hi-cat--> $629

Corsa Indy Pace Car--------------> $1229

Just those already are $4825...

EDIT: That's 1/5 of what I paid for my vette.

Maybe instead of next year, it'll be a three or four years.

EDIT: All prices are based on T Bryne Motorsports, who people tell me is a reputable parts dealer.

Your right, nothing cheap about modding a C5. Sure is fun though.

Looking at your list of parts you probably spent as much on mod money for your car as it's worth.

I know.

I could probably do some of the work myself. I don't think the air intake should be too hard.

But the tranny work will be quite a hassel.

There's absolutely no need to rush.

Shop around. You can find better prices than that. I bought my Corsa Indy's for $719.99 for one.

I know, but I've only had my baby for 11 months (1 year at the end of this month!)

AND NO MODS!!

At least not ones I've put in.

Yep, with mods in sig (plus a few more not noted) I'm into about 9g's for mods! Another has about the same spent, and crazy Wayne has about 13'gs in his car. It's a slippery slope!

The $$$ is part of the reason why I took a sabbatical from the Forum. So much temptation and eye candy to deal with on a daily basis I was putting too much time and cash into my ride and too little to anything else. Mod fever is an addictive b-tch
