Default So I cut a big hole in my hood (pictures)

and decided to patch it up with this 4" cowl ........

dash view

Should I add some stripes on top or some "real flames" on the 4" sides?

I have several projects going right now besides the Corvette. I'm adding a blower, long tube headers, 3" exhaust, cowl hood, roll pan, ignition, and gauges to my 454SS, and installing a new seat, tires, and jet hot headers to my CBX.

Doesn't take guts to make his car what he wants. It's his he wants a cowl and he is doing it. There were almost 300k of these cars made it's a collectors item!!

Dern I hate the folks that keep Mid-America and Ecklers in business buying the goofy little crap they sell.

Wow, I believe that's the largest cowl I've seen on a C5!
I would go with the flames, of course.
Good luck and can't wait to see the finished product!

Gotta love those "real" flames.

Is this one higher than any of the aftermarket hoods?? Just curious how it would affect visibilty. Good luck with the project and be sure to post pics asap.

It's your car do what makes you happy. To many cars on here look the same takes guts to step out of the box By the way I am a motorcycle guy also and always loved the cbx My bike has 6 cyl also but not as fast as the cbx.

I think the highest aftermarket hood I have seen is 3 1/2". That's about where I will be when I am finished fitting the hood. What you see there is the initial cut. Visibility is fine.

The picture is a little deceiving it's not as bad as it looks. Plus, it is going to be a little lower. Not much though.
