Little old lady story
Picked up my vert from A&A(heads, cam, convertor. 3:42s, under drive pulley, etc.) and drove over to Ventura to see an old friend last Fri. Parked in front, got out, and hit the lock, horn blew and scared an old woman on a walker. She gave a little surprised yelp and I walked over to her and said I was sorry about the horn. She said that's okay young man(I'm 68) and by the way that's a really beautiful car. My friend came out of his business and I unlocked the car, popped the hood and started it up. I had not noticed the older lady, but she had just barely cleared the back of the car when I started it. She let out another yelp and I again went back to talk to her. She said, boy that sure sounds powerful. The woman with her who was helping her get along the street was laughing with the older lady and they both said it had been an exciting experience. Car was pretty raspy before Andy worked his magic, now its clear off the board.

Dont want to hijack the thread, but a few years ago I was coming out of my favorite breakfast restaurant, when these two elderly ladies walked by my car. The one lady stopped and asked me about the car... To make a long story short, she was 81 years old, she asked me to pop the hood... and started to ask me a bunch of questions.. I was so intrigued by her sharp mind... she told me she ferried fighter planes ( non combatant) during the second world war she was a fighter pilot of the woman's (WAC) air corp. This lady talked to me for about 30 minutes and left her lady friend in the restaurant...No she was not hitting on me...

I was pulling out of my driveway a few weeks back, and my air dam always scrapes in the street. There was a woman walking her dalmation about 10 feet from the driveway, and the dog was busy watering a telephone pole. When the air dam scraped, the dog lifted straight up in the air about a foot with a full on WTF look on his face!

It's good to know that when I am too feeble to push a clutch pedal anymore I may still get pleasure from hearing a good engine note
