Default BFG KWDs

currently I have a set of road racing tires for sunny days and now I am need a DD tire that could also substitute as a wet weather tire on the track.

Just wondering who might be running these tires and how they perform.

Thanks

I run them and they are seriously great tires. They hook up great on dry and the wet weather grip and ride is amazing. Plus they look damn cool. IMHO, you cannot go wrong with these.

I run 'em and love 'em! We don't get that much wet pavement here in ARIDzona, but they are great on dry pavement - very predictable, quiet smooth ride and not priced into the stratosphere. You know that there are now two tread designs - traditional (TT) and new (NT). I am running stock sizes in the TT....

Mine were noisey due to wheel alignment..then it was too late to cure the noiseness..so I went to another brand..BFG T/A KWDs...male sure you get the alignment along with the new tires. My $.02

I'm running them too, couldn't really beat em for the price and treadwear (300). It's my DD so I needed something that I could use in the rain if need be. Grip is outstanding, and the pattern looks cool too. I've had a couple compliments on the tread pattern.

I am very happy with mine. I agree with everything that everyone else has already said about these tires, they're great.

thanks guys.

There are so many choices. I am just glad that we have the ability to share notes on things we like and dont like.

Looks like the BFGs are on the short list now.

The KDW2s would be my choice.............have them on our 00' vert in a 295/35/19. I just flogged the KDW 2s 295/35/19s at CI VI..................1700+ miles, good 60 foots drag racing and auto xing they worked great. Quieter and more sticky than OEM, Nitto 555 or Yoko AVS Sport RF or non RF. I have been through a few tires

I also run a 275/35/18 on the front of my 97', vg tire for all around use......did very well at the NCM HPDE in SC
Maybe a little noisy due to the larger tread block design but............I never have my radio on and don't hear it........ I wonder why ?

I have the 18" front and 19" rear combo of KDW2's and so far they have been working out great. The tread pattern gets alot of attention.

Thanks for the info. I'm running Kuhmo MX's now but I think I'll try the KDW2's next time. I agree about how the tread pattern is.

"Goodyear owns BFG now right?"

I believe that Michelin bought BFG, but I could be mistaken. I am running BFG KDW's and have been vry satisfied.

This is a side note. The KDW's are good wet and dry. The KD's are great on dry (terrible on wet). I don't drive my car in the rain and these tires (KD's) are awesome. If you check the recent high performance tire test Car and Driver did and look at all of the graphs, the KD's are at the top in practically ever dry test (cornering, stopping, etc.). The other thing about them is that they were 1/2'' to 3/4" an inch wider than the same size Goodyear that I was replacing which I also liked.

I see KD in the sizes i need at the tirerack but not KDW. I'll get the Kd's in 275/315 x 17 for the GS about 1000 bucks.
