[Z06] Quarter Mile...Bone Stock?
#5
Lifting three times to prevent my output shaft from snapping(wheel hop) my car is factory, right down to the air filter and ran a 12.90@113. This was after a 125 mile drive, no cool down and a decent DA of 400 50* air temp. Car is a 2004 Z06.

The Chevy spec for the car is 12.4 @ 116. That represents the average attained by professional drivers across a very large number of passes...not a best pass.
To match or beat the Chevy spec typically takes 40-50 passes to figure the car out and goove the techniques for launch and the shifts.
With practice, practice, practice...the spec can be exceeded, but few drivers can do that across a large number of passes.

bone stock, my best was 12.6@117mph with a 2.4 60'
it was my first time at the track with a manual transmission, let alone a fast car
my launching is horrible, but the rest of my shifting is ok for now (of course i can get better though)

A good driver in a good running Z will be around 12.4. Remember you have track conditions, temperature, driver and many other factors. It's really difficult to compare runs on different days and different tracks. I've run 12.12 in a drag radial, header, and intake modified car. I've turned a 12.6 in the same car, on a different track, different day. Maybe it was me but these were multiple run days and I've been doig this for over 30 years.

In Sep I ran 11.50 @ 120 with great prep and good air, and did not drive well, I thought. Sunday I ran 11.6 @ 118 all day and thought I was driving much better. Track prep sucked and air was warm and humid but .1 and 2 MPH is not huge at all, IMO. Like others stated, seat time is so vital to gettign a traction limited car, like a Z06, down the track with good results.
BLUFF a Z06 is an amzing car stock and the limit is what the driver can do (and how much $ you want to throw at it ).

12.60s @ 115 is about right,my 100% stock 01 -ran 12.75@113mph afew years back on a average 70 temp day--diff. tracks,air quality and driver determines ETs--
