Default Wheel Maintenace

I just got my new crome ZO6 wheels from factory repoductions. Is there anything I should do prior to having theme installed. I thought about waxing them being sure to get the inside of the hub.

My old rims peeled from the inside and started to on the outside. I bought the car used, and it was allready doing this.

I'm going to keep my new rims nice, but don't want to have to take the wheels off to maintain them.

Is there something extra I can do to protect the inside of the hubs.

you can coat them with a paint sealant to help prevent brakedust build-up
Rejex, Zaino, etc

Should I coat the entire rim or just the inside of the hub?

Thanks
Rob

Is this a car paint sealer, or something I can get at lowes?

If your serious about wanting to protect your wheels you might take a look
at Zoop Seal. It's expensive! $100 for the small box! My wheels are polished
aluminum that spot just by looking at them (well, almost ). I haven't
used it yet but I have a box ready in the garage and will, over winter
clean my wheels good and apply this stuff. Haven't heard anything but
good about it!

Oh, and if your looking for a good metal polish, SemiChrome!! Great stuff,
you can get it at many motorcycle shops (call first).

When I had my chrome Z06 rims, I put a good coat of wax on them twice a year, both on the outside and in the barrel of the wheel. Had them over 3 years and no peeling problems plus they were easy to clean up.

There are often several threads on this topic going around the Car Care Products section of the Forum and you can get some good info over there. Good luck.

Chrome does not last. 3 to 4 years.... not much you can do about it.

One of the best basic things you can do is keep them wiped clean of brake dust.. windex works great on chrome wheels..........
