How many of you have graduated from a Camaro/Firebird to a Corvette?
I still have my '88 IROC-Z. It's hard to get rid of it when it still looks and runs great.
Besides it helps keep the miles off the Vette.

Just sold my 88 IROC a few months back (I swapped in a complete LS1/T56/2001 interior(dash, console, seats)), shopping for a C5 now. I'll probably get another one someday, but for now, I'm trying to consolidate.

Back in 2001, Road and Track did a comparison test between a Zo6 and a SS Camaro. The Z06 won, but it was very close.

You guys must be kids.
I loved Camero's. Poor man's corvette.
I bought my first "hot rod" in '73. A '70 SS, 350 300HP. It became my first really rod. I loved the thing and it ran like a beech. My wife learned to drive rods in that baby.
Then I bought my current house and sold it for $1200, which exactly matched the price for central air. DUH.
Now I've finally come back to rods and bought a C5 vert. Its her daily driver, but my weekend toy. Her only requirement is that I not put in a clutch that she cann't push.

Same here, but with several cars inbetween. My first car was a midnight blue '67 Camaro with a white nose stripe and 327. I loved that car. Wish I still had it today. I bought it for $1225 and sold it two years later for $1100 in 1973 (i'm sure it would be worth a little bit more today .
Fast forward almost 27 years thru kids and minivans and I got my first vette at age 47 (came close several times before but never pulled the trigger). A 2001 Pewter coupe w/ A4. Now I have a 2003 MSG vert w/ 6 speed. LOVE the vert but I have to admit, I really have my eye on the new Z06 in a couple of years.
Now my son is following my footsteps. He is 20 and has owned his '98 red Z28 with black racing stripes for almost four years now.

[QUOTE=BBates]I sold my old '69 First Gen Camaro in Sept. 04 to buy my C5. I miss that old car every once in a while, then I turn on the AC in my Vette and forget all about it. [QUOTE=BBates]
