Not to hijack the thread, but the graph implies that there were no 2003's with Torch Red interior. I don't think that's correct. Also, the "red/black" category is, I assume, for the Z06 ~~> Mod Red. But there are only numbers for 2003 & 2004 when Mod Red was in fact available from the beginning of the Z06 run in 2001.

here is a link to the colors!

Dang, what is that Medium Purple Pearl Metallic - RPO 95U? I have NEVER seen a C5 that color. The last Corvette I saw that color was the C4 Black Rose (last year '94??).

Nice reds, but there is only one green!

Back to the original topic: When I bought my 2001 coupe (QS/TR), I was orignally looking for a Mag Red/Oak 6-speed Z51 but could not find one. A person who lives near me has a Mag Red/Oak/Oak Vert. Every time I see it I drool

Well actually there was "Fairway Green Metallic" in 97-98 and "Dark Bowling Green Metallic" in 00-01

Then in 2000 they named the color Magnetic Red II creating the unofficial "nickname" of the 99 color to be Magnetic Red I, but I have never seen GM confirm that name. I know this from experience because I own a 99 and when I buy touchup paint, the label reads "Red Metallic Clear Coat"
As far as the original post, if I am understanding the question correctly, the difference between 99 red metallic and 2000-2004 Magnetic Red II is clearly the tone of the color. The 04 red is darker and closer to blue on the color spectrum and the 99 has a lighter color closer to yellow on the color spectrum with some bronze tones. Some may argue that there is no difference, but I can tell by looking at the back of the car. The 99 red is a closer match to the color of the tail lights than the 04 red. The 99 red is just about a perfect match in clear sun whereas the 04 red is much darker than the taillights. Just my humble opinion... hope I answered your question!
my build sheet and sticker both say magnetic red and was a 600.00 up charge in 1999.

I have a great pic of my 04 Magnetic Red II. Once I figure out how to attach I will.

I like Light Carmine Red Metallic (also called Toreador Red Metallic).
Only 513 Verts were built in that color

Mag red 2 is brighter and more metallic (almost candy apple red) compared to the duller mag red 1.
