I had a piece of weather striping rip off on my drivers side near where the panel attaches, and still no leak Even under heavy spray from a garden hose at point blank range.

My 97 leaks in through the floorboard where seat bolts in even whole sitting in the yard. was told that it is the body drains but i cant find anything about it. The "corvette specialist" that told me that was supposed to have cleaned them but it still leaks the same.

mine leaks petty bad when in heavy rain and using pressure washers. light rain it does fine. I just keep a towel in the car and if its raining put it where it leaks.

Hi there. You are right! I have a c5 2000 coupe. I have the same problem with the turn signals. There is a relativley inexpensive fix for this. It is a bypass hazard wire loom that is used for hyper-flash leds. The great thing is it also fixes the turn signal problems. You have to take out the panel under the dash on the drivers side, then disconnect the stock plug from the original flasher unit, plugging in the bypass. Supposed to take about 30 minutes. Cost about $70. The other option is to replace the original hazard switch which is much more time consuming, removing the radio and the console. There is a great thread on this with pictures. But if you already know about it, then I'm just being redundant. Thanks, hopefully this may help. I love my C5, never had a machine like this before. Torchy Red

I recently traded my 93 coupe for a Black 02 convertible. For the most part, the car is great with the acception it does leak. I discovered the leak about a weak ago. I first notice the wind leak about two weeks ago. Then last week when I did a full hand wash, water leaked in on from the driver side window. Due to the fact I bought it from a private own dealer, I'm taking back to him with hopes he works wtih me on the cost to rectify the problem.

Got caught in the rain a couple times this past summer, no leaks. It's a 98. I get a air leak on the passenger side at about 80. That is an easy adjustment.

Default C5 top leak

My 2000 C5 has been leaking over the door windows when washing. Now starting to leak some in rain. Bought new weather strips for the top and hope to get them on next weak.

Seat give me trouble with battery. If I leave the bladder pump hooked up battery goes dead over night. Unplug it and it holds up fine. I think it is in the seat switch.

Don't get around to great yet from my major back surgery last October but getting a few things done. Can't hardly wait for all the swelling to go away so I can get my jeans on again and get under my Bumble Boogie. Frog lights are on my list, on the shelf two years now.

In preparation of it being totalled, I'm beginning to search for a replacement. Depending on what they will give me for it, I'm considering putting it towards a c5. I found a black 97 for $19k. Was just curious if there were any common annoying problems among c5s. Such as leaky tops on the coupes as is common among c4s.

Thanks.

Default C5 waether strips leaking

Any advise on installing targa top weather strips? I had a local body shop install my halo strip and they did a totally horrible job. I will remove it and redo it if i can save it.

I have a small leak on the roof weatherstripping above the driver's window. I had to replace the weatherstripping & chose aftermarket pieces versus expensive GM pieces. It only leaks in heavy rain when the car is parked. I carry a towel.
