what do you mean what? I want to know if anyone has made a carbon fiber targa top. I dont want it to be bare carbon fiber, but rather painted, so dont "what" me.

I have never seen it. Anything is possible, you just need the $$$ to do it.
I say go do it, come back and show us.
I loved carbon fiber. But, when you want panels done in it get ready for major dollars. I know a guy that has all carbon fiber panels custom made for his Porsche made by him and the car cost 500,000

Not sure how much benefit you will get with one as far as weight savings over the Lexan top. I believe the C6 Z06 fixed top is not carbon as well, but the SMC.

i used to own a *gulp* honda del sol, that was mainly a show car. i was in love with carbon fiber at the time, so i had yo have everything carbon fiber. i called this company in california (i'll try to find the name later) and had them make me a trunk, targa top, and i had the dash covered in CF. looked bad *** too. but it was still a 13 second honda

If I hadn't just finished painting my targa top I would have taken this idea to the next level and tried it out! Dang. I've laid a few sheets before and a targa top would be simple! Oh yeah... anybody want to buy some carbon fiber mirrors?

LOL. Don't be ashamed. I, too, had a del sol, way back when, for whatever reason I thought it would be a neat car.

I'd be interested in seeing someone price out a CF targa top. I probably couldn't afford one, but it would be neat.

Notice my winkie at the end of that post guys, I was just kidding around.

I have been thinking about making a mold for the top, and then selling some carbon/kevlar fiber targa tops. The only problem is finding the bracket piece to bond to the part. Would anyone be interested in somthing like this?

Maybe. It would make the top easier to get off for women and shorter people. I am nether but would still like the weight saving part.
