Just had the 2 year anniversary of mine coming off. I’ll never forget that sound and feeling as the top of your car peels off like tape. Mine seems to come off at about 35. You’ll get it fixed up and have a great story to tell as long as you own your car! Just, make sure it only happens once…

I am shocked at how many people do this...... Especially people who seem to be above the normal in caring for their cars...

Default Flying Roof

Glad not much harm was done. I wanted to go for an evening cruze
last night. When I took the top off, it was still light out. After the cruze, it was dark, and being the first time of trying top off,(just bought my C5 on the 14th), it took me several minutes to get the top back on securely. I hope I did it right. Guided the rear in first to the
2 stud holes, then rocked gently the front down, and then locked the
back, and then the front. Manual, really wasn't much help.
Today driving into work and home all went well, no flying top here yet.....

I'm dreadfully waiting for it to be my turn to be the next car behind the C5 who loses his top. That's scary.

Geeeezus Sakes! God Bless you, and, no harm done to anyone. My hats off to you for how handy you are to attempt to do your own repairs (this is cool). Take care, now.

Seems like when it happens somebody is always distracted while their in the process of putting it on. Like somebody said above, don't even talk until it's latched in. Glad it wasn't worse and didn't hit anybody.

Hah Man sucks for you my friend. I really don't know how you guys can forget such a simple things as the latches when you are putting on the roof but let me suggest one thing, "gincobilioba" try that at your local GNC =)

Welcome to the club. It happen to my camaro when I first got it. I just set the top on the night before. 2 days later I decide to drive it and the damn thing flys off down the road. I forgot to latch it and didnt think about it when i got in it. When mine flew off it didnt break so I was OK. But it did leave some nasty scratches on it.
