Which adhesive to use for rear lettering?
The "C" of the rear lettering came off while washing the car. I can still feel some adhesive material on the backing but not enough to securely stay on the car while driving.
Can anyone that has had this problem (I know there must be many) please let me know what you used to re-secure the rear lettering? And please don't say tape. haha
Thanks guys,
Aldo

I had problems with a couple letters lifting, I used contact cement, apply as small amount to the letter and the bady with a toothpick, wait about 15 minutes and press the letter down, haven't any problems since. Some have recommended a spray adhesive, I think it was a 3M product available at auto stores, apply with the same method though.

When I was applying the letters the adhesive came off one letter when I was trying to remove the paper backing. I removed all adhesive and installed them using 3M Super Adhesive.

If you use contact cement, or spray adhesive how would you remove the letters if you ever wanted to??? Wouldn't the cement or adhesive remove the paint along with the letters????

If you haven't had them very long, try contacting the vendor and see if they will send you another letter.

I dont think I"ll try superglue.
There is still some adhesive material on the letter just not sticky enough. Im looking for someone to give a the exact product they have used on the past. Im not even sure how to remove the existing adhesive on the back of the lettering.

I used waterproof epoxy. Works like a charm! Lay all your letters on a piece of cardboard, tacky side up. Then, mix the glue and the hardener with a toothpick. Spread on a thin film of glue on the back of each letter. Wait until tacky (about 5 minutes). Pick up with a pair of tweasers and apply. It WILL NOT come off and is on there forever.
