Chevy dealer wants $900.00 to fix fuel gauge...
Hi Everyone....My fuel guage on my 99 vette often goes to zero and then sometimes will return to where it should be...I took it to the chevy dealer and they tell me it's a bad modual sending unit issue and the part is around $700.00 and about 200. for labor. Has anyone else had this problem and what do you all think of the costs????? Thanks, Dennis

Techron didn't fix mine. I made a post the other day about this same thing. I have the same issue. The overwhelming response was to go through 2 complete tanks of CHEVRON gas. I advise doing this. I haven't emptied my current tank of "bad" gas, but when I do, I'm going to try my first of 2 tanks of Chevron gas to cure this issue.

Just a note Techron will not solve then problem all the time.
I have the problem and GM has already replaced my senders. I have only used Chevron 94 with Techron since the replacement of the senders and have also used bottles of techron.
As I said before I still have the problem!!!!!

I had the same problem, it fixed itself after running Chevron fuel
only, nothing else. It took about eight tanks for the problem to go away. I guess this doesn't work for everyone but if you top off your tank when this happens or keep an eye on miles traveled, you might
save some $$$$$$ in the long run. Worth a try in my opinion

My suggestion is Chevron and only Chevron. If you can't get Chevron then get techron by the bottle. I've had the problem several times and it's always while I'm on vacation and can't find Chevron. As soon as I go back to Chevron it clears up. Just my .02!
