Don't wash my car much.
I've had it new since 02 and have only washed it three times . Each time was after getting caught in the rain. My secret.
Only driven on nice days.
It stays in the garage when not driven.
Gets wiped down after each use with 100% cotton towels.
Between polishes, Zaino detail spray.
No, It's not a "Garage Queen" has 33,000 miles.
Here is a pic of my dirty car.
So who hardly washes?

Wash with Z7 twice a week, dudes. I drive mine ALL the time. No amount of Z6/Z8 and replace a good wash after a week of high speed driving.
18,000 miles in 9 months. Do the math.

take a little saran wrap and cover your hand, then carefully follow it over the paint. If it stumbles or studders, then you have contaminents in the paint. The only way to remove properly is to wash, clay, polish, and protect on a reasonable basis. Obviously garage kept, hardly used cars, this does not apply quite as often.

Got a "California Duster" last week. I already know that I'll have to wash Red Racer less frequently than before. That duster is really as advertised...removes a layer of dust that I otherwise be looking at until the next wash.
Since I don't normally drive it in the rain, I can probably go at least a week between washes now instead of twice a week.

At least 3 times a month. Even though I only take it out on nice days the highways in north east NJ are fifthly. So it gets dirty. During the week I touch it up with detail spray.

In six years, and 60,000 miles, I bet I haven't washed my car ten times...
I california dust it, zaino gloss enhancer, wipe it down every time I take it out and wipe it down every time it goes in the garage.

I wash mine 2-3 times a week. Of course, it's black and gets dusty within minutes. lol
Aren't you guys afraid of scratching your dusty car when you use the Cali duster? I've got one but I'm afraid using it with all the dust on the car will scratch the paint.

On my previous car, 99 Trans Am, the last 3 years of ownership, I washed it less than 5 times as well. But those wheels were chrome so they looked nicer with less maintenance.
I did notice however that the brake dust on the inner portion accumulated and there was even pitting which led to some areas flaking off the chrome.
For this reason, I now wash the vette at least once or twice a month on the weekends usually.
How do the rest of you manage to clean the brake dust off? Even though I use a California car duster and Z6 after a drive, I still don't know how to minimize brake dusting.

i used to wash mine two to three times a week.
But since I did the Zaino thing several months ago, I've only washed it three times.
Now I use the California Duster between washes. Works great (and no swirl marks).

But I still wash mine once or twice a week. With the mileage I do, I have to. I fear no rain.
And my car is black.

Black here too - needs a wash nearly every time shes out on the roads.
Best to get brake dust off the chrome wheels ASAP before pitting starts up

On my death-bed;
- "I wish I had spent more time at work..."
- "I wish I had kept the Vette out of the weather..."
NOT!
They clean up well.
