Default new speed in TX!!

tx has raised the speed limit to 80MPH , the change takes place july 1

If this is true, that's great. But, I'm afraid its probably those really rural roads out in West Texas. Out there, its already posted as 75MPH. So its probably only where it's safe to do that. Not that I wouldnt mind cruising around at 90 mph only be doing 10 over...

im out here in west tx (odessa) and its 70 here. west of pecos thats when it hits 75. i am unaware about this new law. is there a link?

i understood that its for the rual areas that are already 75 mph. didnt say whether or not the majority of tx will be bumped up to 75. we shall see.

That's great news for you Texans. We just got ours increased to 70mph on rural interstates. Your next obstacle is the front plate issue, which we did away with 50 years or so ago.

There is a speed limit in rural Texas? I have never seen any evidence of it.

We are up to 65mph in most of upstate NY. Because of the increase in the price of gas they are talking about raising it up to 55mph. Boy are we lucky!
