The gift thing works! My wife knows that cars are my thing. So she gives me space, and I give her a gift. It keeps her happy. The nice thing is that she's a car gal to.

My wife arranged getting the Vette for me and she's been fully supportive of my addiction since then.

She just can't relate. If you saw her arrange, then re-arrange, admire, add to, replace her beloved collection of shoes you might get a feel for how she feels. My husband couldn't care less about my 'vette (or prior ones)... but he laughs when he stumbles upon me in the garage detailing under the hood. I've never gotten the feeling he's resentful, or that he might feel I'm taking time from him/home/kids. If that's the way she's feeling, and you're truly not doing that, it might be a maturity issue on her end of things.

My girlfriend could care less, and actually encourages me to buy things sometimes. I also always ask for her input in the looks of things Thats why I think I should marry her.

[QUOTE=Postergeist]It probably won't come to making a choice. I hope, anyway! She's just jealous of the time you spend with the car (could be a LOT worse!)....taking it personally. She'll come around.[/QUOTE

Occasionally I hear about my dropping everything to help a buddy do some work, but I always come home. Something comforting. In my book she is an
