Default Bad day ... smashed my oil pan

It was a beautiful day ... until the last 2 minutes. Went over something in the road ... load clunk ... then shortly ... no oil pressure. Shut her down and had her towed to a Chevy dealer.

There is zero clearance under there ... this must not be that uncommon. I assume others here have been through this.

Does the engine have to come out to change the pan? What am I in for here ...

I hope you have warranty or this would be more like insurance (comp )... 9 bills for a new one from what I've heard.
I hope it gets fixed soon. Sorry to hear about your damage.
Glad no one got hurt.

Warranty? Tough to blame this on Chevrolet. I have $500 deductable collision and $250 deductable comprehensive. I think this is comprehensive. Hope so.

I meant insurance (just woke up) :o ... I hate it when my inside voice starts typing.
I hope they don't give you a hard time.
WTH is it lately with the MSG's hitting road debris? I just got my car back to "normal" after almost a month.
Good luck

Well not being an expert here.....but I'll bet the pan can be replaced without pulling motor. I don't know what a new pan costs....but I'd bet I could do it in 1 hour or less with the proper tools. UNLESS I'm not seeing something

Well ... got the word. Insurance will cover under collision and the cost will be about $1,500. I'm just stuck with the deductable. I'll be Vetteless for about a week. Figures ... as soon as the weather gets warm around here ...
