Saw a poser Zo6 Vert at the park tonight
Visiting a friend in Houston, and it being such a nice day today (in the eighties), I decided to go to the park for a run.
Halfway around the park, I saw a guy just getting into his silver vert. It was obviously modified, with an aftermarket hood, and chrome zo6 wheels. Ok, I just had to stop and talk to another vette enthusiast. As soon as I get a little closer though, I see it (almost as bad as seeing Vtec or something on the back of a vette) (lol, don't want to mention any names Anyway, what I saw was the 405 hp factory zo6 emblem on the side of the front fender. Wow, my first thought was.. hmm.. maybe a Caravaggio.. but after asking him, he said "it's being converted".
Lol, a quick look at the vin showed it was a regular C5 vert.
I guess to each his own. I've done enough mods to my vert to make it anything but the car that drove away from the dealer in '01 when I bought it; however I would never ever try to make someone think it was a zo6!!!!
Almost done with my run a couple miles further down the road, I saw him driving by and gave a wave anyway!!!!

You rang???
Seriously Billy, you car is closer to a C5-R than a Vert resplendent with big block and truly profane amounts of horsepressure

Hi Billy182 -
Some folks seem to be ok with putting the emblems on - there was a vert poseur here in my town a while back.
Funny thing was, a lot of the "vette folks" in the local club thought the poseur was indeed a Z06 vert...
Oh well - whaddya gonna do?
Your car looks great!
best regards -

As you know, Mr. Green, it's not just about horsepower, otherwise "Billy" wouldn't be posting about this issue, it's about cache, which "Billy" knows he doesn't have.

Lol, my car has everything visually from the outside that a zo6 has too (except for the "S" in the vin number) and checking the number code in the windshield (even if that is visible) I do agree with showing off a little extra horsepower though, but opted myself for the Supercharged emblem on the fender
