Default How do you get the #@#@#$& air box off?

I got the new air filter today. Instructions say "just take the old air box off...remove the twobolts from the front bumper.......
How the @#$#@ do they come off? They don't have flat head screws. They don't have phillips... no allen head... WHAT TAKES THEM OFF????

Just pull, they are held on by rubber gromets.

Just use a screw driver wrapped in a towel and pry them off. It is a rubber gommet on a post. Should be good to go.

Yup, get the BIG flathead screw driver. Just a little twist should work.

If you are talking about the 2 Bolts holding the Air Box itself to the front inside bumper; this is bolted on with 2 Torx screws T-30 Torx driver will work, however it will be a tight fit with the radiator shroud in the way, it would be better to have a 3/4" ratchet with T-30 torx attachment. The air intake screws (plastic) just pop out with a flathead screw driver as said in the previous posts, hope this helps

it is a Torx not sure of the size so I assume the above is correct. As I installed the Z06 cover with the K&N I did not want to "pull" the cover out Here is what I did 1)put a cover over the fender and the engine, 2)Un-hook and pull out old air filter. 3) with a flash light and almost standing on your head you can now see the two screws on the inside of the cover that need to be removed, they are in rubber grommets. I used a 1/4" racthett that held the Trox there is not much room. best of luck.

That's what I did. Got a ratchet with extension and torx drive bit, and with a lot of patience and ripped up hands, from such a tight fit, finally got those bolts out.

Certainly would have been nice to know you could just pry them out of those grommets!
