Without question the Vararam will make more power than the zip tie mod. But it is a PITA to install.

I recently installed a VR-B2 and it wasn't an EASY install, but I've had ALOT worse... Don't get the post about fragile parts -- feels like pretty hefty plastic to me. I wasn't thrilled with the 'finish' of the plastic, but most of it's not visibile once in, and the part that is can easily be removed for later painting (which I plan to do)...

Vararam, BIG difference. My friends car and mine are very equal in running and have the same mods. He put the Vararam on and blew me away I'm talking 2 to 3 cars from a 2nd gear roll. I put it on my car and we were back even again. Not that difficult to put on. Lots of help here on the forum.

The Vararm is not hard to install at all. If you take your time and follow the instructions (which most people say are bad? I still disagree) It is not bad at all. It took me 2 hours to install it.

The instructions I got weren't bad as in unclear, they were just difficult to read, since it looked like they'd be chain-faxed around the globe and then photocopied 50 times... As a result the photos were worthless. Still was pretty easy to figure out. The install took me over 4 hours, but much time was wasted looking for tools, so it should have taken me less time.

I gained 3 tenths from the vararam and it installed in about 3 hours. I could probably do the install in 1/2 the time now that I know how everything fits tegether. I only paid $240 for mine at corvettes of houston last year.

Yeh -- sorry -- didn't mean to hijack the thread. I considered other intake options, but frankly the Vararam owner's comments (especially Patches) convinced me to spend my money once and well, and I'm glad I did!

I gained 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile with my Vararam over the K&N FIPK. Not sure what I would have gained over stock, but I could definitely tell a SOTP difference after I installed it.
