Default Z06 MAF Pushes JBSBLOWNC5 Over 750 HP (flywheel)

I swapped out my stock 98 Maf for an 02 Z06 maf and picked up around 20 HP. I pulled as high as 644 RWHP, and 571 RWT, but fattened it up just a tad for safety and landed in the high 630s heat soaked on the dyno.
I have a graph, but am too tired to get it on the the forum. If someone would email me at kerijoel1@comcast.net I'll email it to them and they could post it for me to this thread.
Thanks,
JB

Awesome numbers, but then again you alway have. I am shocked you got that much out of a MAF, congrats.

That's a pretty cool and relatively inexpensive mod.

And here it is:

That's one of the smoothest curves I've seen in a long time.

Very cool JB! Did you get the extra 20hp just by slapping the the MAF on and retuning, or did the 20HP show up immediately and you detuned it for safety?

Also, I wonder if it's a C5 vs. Z06 thing or if GM started putting this new MAF on all Vettes after a certain year?

What size is the ZO6 MAF, 85mm? Also, does it include the IAT sensor also? If it does, is there an adapter harness that will allow LS1 MAF and IAT plugs to connect to it?

Great feedback!

Vortech has always stressed how important the Intake area is in front of the compressor wheel and big gains can be found there, but I haven't experimented yet.

Did you keep the Screen in the MAF or remove it?

My buddy soldered in a resister in the Z06 MAF and we made a pull with no tuning and gained 20+ HP. We then Added a bit of fuel for safety up top.

I have the 85 mm screenless Maf. It has a IAT sensor in it, but I don't use it since my Iat is relocated in my intake tube right before the throttle body. I'm still able to use that one. I bought an adapter from Jim page Pontiac/HIPO parts, that will allow you to plug into the IAT and Z06 Maf.

Where did you get the front license late cover with the mesh in it?

Did you use the Jim Pace 85mm MAF resistor calibrated for the stock LS1 MAF Table or did you use a Z06 MAF?

Did you switch your MAF tables to match the Z06 table if you didn't use the resistor mod (Jim Pace MAF)?

My Buddy just soldered a resistor into the maf connecting two of the small wires in an 02 Z06 Maf. We did not have to switch tables.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does the resistor do in this setup?

You're pardoned, since I can't explain it any better. I will try to get more info and post that soon.

Right now it's time to go out and tear up some Canyon roads!!!

Default Ultimate Canyon Ride!!!

Just got back a bit a go from an unbelievable Canyon run!! I got some video of me chasing down a GSXR 1000 and passing him. I then was like white on rice with a brand new R1 through the canyons. The air temps were 60s and the extra 50 ponies backed up with the Meth spray was a combo like I've never experienced before!!

I probably just had my best canyon run in 6 years!!!!
I had to brake so hard sometimes coming into the turns that my brembos were smoking....

Ditto on the Canyon day for me too, Joel. I was up there early this morning and had one hell of a lot of fun. These motors REALLY like the cool air.

And Congrats on squeezing every last drop out of your baby!.
