Well, I just got back late last night from Ventura. As some of you may recall, I live in California and have been a bit pre-occupied is past posts about carb numbers, etc. In setting my goals for the car I wanted a fast, fun to drive car that could pass the smog sniffer test and the visual test too. These goals have placed obvious limitations, but I am happy with the results.

The following are the modifications to the car:

GHL Exhaust
LS-6 Manifold

New Additions from A&A

Comp Cam 218-222-117 - near stock idle
Stage 2 A&A Heads
Vortech S-trim Supercharger
TR6 Plugs
Ken Belle Boost a Pump

As I have heard from others in the past, the car drives like stock if you don't get on it. I gunned it a few times on the way home last night on the freeway, but didn't really get into boost too much.

This morning I went out for a ride and gunned it from a stand still through first and second. Holy Shi*! What a difference when you step down hard it went from 3000-6000 so fast I was shocked. I dropped it into second and guess what happened hit the rev limiter hard, oops! It scared me at first I thought I blew the engine . Hey, I never claimed to have any great driving skills . I guess it is like others have said, I will have to relearn to drive the car, but I am certainly looking forward to it. I felt pretty good about the torque numbers & dyno numbers considering I am using my stock air box and no headers. They are not kidding when they say that Vortech is very quiet. I could barely hear it, but the engine with the GHL's is pretty loud. Last night when I drove up my wife opened the garage door before I even pulled into the drive way. She said she heard me coming from down the street



I guess there will be no sneaking in late in this car.

I hit the rev limiter pretty hard my first time standing on it, too, and you're right...you'll learn how it works.

Ditto about the rev limiter-that's SOP when you get your blower!
Congratulations...It sounds like you got exactly what you wanted-a smooth powerful relatively quiet smogable daily driver...a stealthmobile!
Andy really hits it on the head, those cam specs sound perfect for your situation!
Gonna be a lot of embarrassed mustangs and ricers in your neck 'o the woods!

Congrats!! It takes a minute to get used to the extra power. I started with a S-trim, but moved to the T-Trim. Boost is addicting!!

MelloYellow- To answer your questions no the S-trim is super quiet just like Vortech says. I could barely even notice the blower sound wise until just before redline. She heard me coming because the Stage 2 heads and GHL exhaust are plently loud.

JB- I saw your car when I was down at Andy's those Kompressor Badges looked nice in person. I ended up picking up those badges I had posted about.

It was fun seeing many of the cars I have been reading about these past few months JB's, Roys and a few others too!


I am hopeful that Bassani will get that carb number soon on their headers for Round #2
