twin turbo owners how much boost are you running
I am really close to having a local performance-shop install a twin turbo setup on my stock 02'' ZO6... The guy is telling me to run 9-10 lbs of boost for daily driving and being able to crank it up to 15lbs with race gas if I wanted (probably would'nt though) anyway my question is anybody running over 9lbs of boost on the stock bottom end? if so how's it holding up? B.T.W my car only has 3,000 miles on it so it's pretty stong, I really don't know if the LS6 internals are any tougher than that of the LS1.

I am sure everyone will tell you........but If I had someone tell me that, I would never let them touch my car. 9 lbs on a stock Z06 will pop the engine so fast :cry I would check with another shop............REALLY

HI JB I am running 10 psi on stock bottom end however I am running that on 6 litter heads wich lowers the compression to 9.4 I Think 10 psi to much unless you lower the compression

7-8# is the maximum you can run safely on a LS1 engine, The Z06 has a little higher compression and IMO 7# on a LS6 is pushing the limit to the edge if you want a reliable setup. I agree anyone that would tell you to run that much boost on a stock engine is someone I would NEVER EVER let touch my car.
Ummm, on the other hand if you have some connections with the United States Military in the special weapons department you could set up your car setup with that much boost do a WOT run and sell the thing as a grenade that goes 120+ MPH

I'm running about 6 with the LPE STAGE 1 SETUP - 502 rwhp. As far as your local installer, how many TT C5's has he done? Better yet, how many Z06's since they have a higher compression? Have you been in any of his installs?

Actually he has only done 1 C5 TT install on a 99' Hard Top but he does do TT or single turbo setups on a regular basis. I saw the pics of the C5 and it turned out real nice..His price is very reasonable too only 6K installed with tuning on a dyno and me providing the injectors and fuel pump.

Is he going to buy you a new engine when it blows on the dyno? I am no expert but I do know that a stock LS6 has too high a compression ratio to run that high of boost. There is a reason ATI only uses 7lbs on a LS1 and 5lbs of boost on a LS6.
