Default ECS supercharger owners step inside

So I am installing a ECS supercharger on my 04 C5. Everything is done except buttoning up a few pieces. One thing I am stumped on is how does the air cleaner tube mount to the head unit? It’s an aluminum pipe. I would have thought there would be a silicone coupler or something but I don’t have any more couplers. I emailed Chris at ECS and he said it just slides on but there has to be a way to secure it to head unit.

Slips right on and the clamp makes a nice tight seal, don't over think it, I have never had one loosen up.

duct tape... it's literally made for keeping metal air tubes together

So no coupler? I’ll give it a try but just can’t see that worm clamp compressing that metal pipe enough to get a seal on the head unit.

Nope. Just broke 2 clamps trying to tighten the aluminum pipe onto head unit. Any other ideas?

You are definitely missing a coupler. Heres a pic of my ECS kit. Email them and tell them yours was missing.

that inlet pipe is well made and looks like it would pick up some flow with the nice smooth bends

ECS,

Do you have the blower piping for a d1x?? I'd like to talk to you all about installing and tuning the blower too.

I'll be in touch

if it's not snug without the coupler, take some tape and wrap the blower flange. I also like the adhesive silicone if you use it sparingly

to fit right, the tube might need to push flush with the blower going over the flange. if you can fit a "t clamp" it will also provide a much better clamping force to crush the alum down

but personally, I think it's defective, I'll be happy to trade you an A&A plastic inlet for it

You installed mine on 07', it has never been off until 20' when you replaced the pull and drive. In fact the car in 34,ooo miles has not only been problem free, passes inspection each and every year.
matter of fact just last year replaced Julio's pump for the meth which he could not believe how long it lasted.

OK so I looked farther into this and I was incorrect, well at least for the timeline. Years ago when C5 kits came with NOVI2000's it was a straight aluminum on aluminum clamped set up as you can see from Dave Concrete's post. When we switched to the Novi1500 self contained head units we started with a plastic duct as you can see from 50 Anny's picture, then a while back some people complained about the plastic inlet (even though everyone's is plastic) so we changed the whole nose area and incorporated an aluminum duct which also has a coupler and two clamps as 2003_coupe has pictured.

So please call in, email, message me on here who you are and I'll get one in the mail ASAP. Sorry, that was our mistake.
