50 degrees + low humidity + boost = scary
It is ideal HP weather here. I just went out to do some logging before my dyno pulls tomorrow and the car was downright scary. I was getting sideways in 3rd.
Earlier today (about 20* warmer) I was out giving a friend a ride and I was getting decent traction, even in first.
What gives, is it really just more hp? Less weight in the car? Tire temp?
I've heard boosted cars really like cooler temps, but I was not expecting such a big difference.

I am not expert yet but from what I am dealing with the hotter the intake air temp the more timing gets pulled out by the ECM. Less timing = less HP. Another guess would ne colder denser air, you can get more O2 in. Like Nitrous, cold with lots of O2.

You may not be an expert, but I think you nailed this one. I was out the other night at 56 degrees and just kept spinning!! You gota love cold air!

Tire temp plays a huge roll here. If the tire never reaches optimal temps and cools off to much between aggressive maneuvers, the cars will stay "slippery".
Add that to the increased HP/TQ and ...... YEEEHAAWWW!

I noticed it, too. I am getting measurably more boost now that it's colder out. I saw 5 PSI at less than 4,000 RPM this morning (when my V1 started squawking and I had to slow down). Is it because the air is more dense (or am I just more dense)? Whatever it is, it's a blast! :smash:
