LINGENFELTER 427 TT goes 8.95 @ 153.6
Congratulations to John Lingenfelter, Steve D. and the entire LPE crew to build the first street driven C5 Corvette to run in the 8s in the qtr. mile!
This Corvette has previously made several 9.2 passes at over 150 mph and currently held the fastest E.T. for a street driven C5 but J.L. was pretty sure it could do even better with a few more tweaks.
The car is a 2000 Corvette HT with a Lingenfelter 427 Twin Turbo,
the car is 3400+lbs, sounds and idles almost like a stock Corvette and is driven regularly on the street.
The weather at River City Raceway outside San Antonio today was almost perfect with clear skies and the temp in the low 60s.
The track was very slippery for the first couple of runs but the car still managed a couple of mid 9s with an unimpressive 1.6 60 ft. times.
On the third pass of the day the car seemed to finally hook up,
and hook it did, the E.T. was 8.95 @ 153.6 with a 1.40 60 ft. time.
Again, John Lingenfelter and the LPE crew raise the bar for driveability
and performance.
AWESOME!

Congrats...
Do you have time slips or video?
What tires were you guys running? Did you guys disconnect the front swaybar, or was everything in tact like a normal HT? At 3400lbs that is just smoking!
Very nice run..would love to see it!
Thanks for dealing with all the questions.

Great driving by Matt, I think. All with forced induction and NO NOX. S.D. has certainly raised the bar. Nice job. :smash: :smash:

My wife and I watched this car make a run in Bowling Green, KY. And the amazing thing was how stock it sounded riding around Bowling Green. This is the ultimate street car sleeper, and no NOS bottles to fill up.
CONGRATULATIONS

AWESOME!!! Congratulations LPE and Steve Dumler!!!
LPE does some incredible work.
I can't remember what all has been done to Mr Dumler's car, but it must be a bit. I think I recall reading it would cost about $127,000 plus the cost of the vette to reproduce this, so that's another $77K above the usual $50K 427TT package.
LPE rocks!
