Default Two issues, can they be related?

Howdy Y'all

I had my TT 03z out for some fun the other day and pushed it pretty hard, when decelerating I smelled oil and limped it home with ample oil pressure (only about 2 miles) when I checked on it there was a lot of oil under the car and the SES light was on. The oil was coming from the front of the motor and it appears as if my balancer has come lose and walked off the end of the crank a bit, I am overdue to pin it and give it an ARP bolt. The other issue is the SES showing P0343 Cam Position sensor High Voltage which I think indicates a wiring issue, these happened at the same time,on opposite ends of the motor, is there any way they are related?

Thanks
Bill
