i broke it when pulling the motor, I've heard some have just pulled it and capped both ends? i just want to make sure you can do this with no bad side effects? just needs to be shut off in the tune? if thats the case can i drive the car to the tuner or will it put it in some kind of "limp mode"

you can remove it, cap the intake and line at the firewall, and have the associated codes removed... I have had mine this way with no noticeable side effects and it really cleans up the driver side area along the intake/fuel rail

think installing a long piece of rubber hose from the tube that comes out of the firewall and run it to atmosphere down near the access panel by the front tire would work?
its rattle canned with wrinkle black. came out great, did it about 2 years ago now.
and i have a return system, the return is off of my FPR that is mounted by the brake res.

I don't want to leave it open with the fear of gas fumes just venting into a hot engine bay if anything I'll run a piece of rubber hose to the underside of the car or just cap it.

I have had mine taken off for year and don't remember if i capped it or not.. I plan to take the car off the lift in the next week, ill look at it again, but whatever i did, its worked great for years with no issues.. I really think i just left it uncapped though.

yep, the codes can be removed and pass emissions just fine... technically it is supposed to be there to pass the visual inspection but most inspectors don't even look or would notice that it's missing anyway... this is in tx, the emissions laws will vary from state to state
