Yeah no sh*t.... But you'd be surprised at how fast it will get there... Especially paying for GOOD labor.. Then when you start throwing in the cosmetic upgrades in with the big power build....that adds a ton..
Lastly, go race it a few times, break some stuff and just watch the dollars fly...
Building a big power dyno queen is one thing, actually racing it is another...

Bought mine for $24K added another $24K but it will make most C6Z06's take notice on the track and I've toasted several C7's. Cost a lot but tons of pleasure. I'm 71 years old and probably never will get rid of it. What I concentrate on is the coming years of pleasure it will bring me.

I'd be lucky to get 15k for my built eb 02 with a 429 ls7.
At anything close to 40k you could buy a c6z
And there plenty of 1000hp c5 that have been posted here and don't sell for 25k

Putting the car back to near stock, sell it for $18-20k, keep the killer parts for the next car...or sell them for pennies on the dollar.. $12k engines are lucky to bring $5k.. $8-9k big blower setups bring $4k at best.
Financially speaking, corvettes and modding them is about the worst thing you can do...

That's true... People want to buy stock cars, not modified.. A stocker or maybe bolt ons only will bring more money and sell faster then a heavily modded one...

Why is everyone acting like I think mods are worth 100% of what u spend? No crap they are not. We all know that. I was pissed that something little went wrong again costing me time and missing an event I was signed up for. Dont need to tell me my cars worthless. This ain't you run of the mill built car. Its not some blower car you can go buy any time you look on here. Its a one off custom that works amazingly well. I just asked how would one even price something like that when the time cones if I sell. So all the sarcasm is not needed in here. Rant over.

I've actually been looking to sell my modded C6Z and get a built 850+rwhp C5. I've done lots of research on built C5's and what they are selling for, not just asking price. I think 30-35k for your car would be a good deal for the buyer and if you were offered any amount around that price range I would take it and run. People may even offer you more, but good luck not getting the run around from them and actually getting that money...I've gone through the same "dreamers" when selling modified cars. Also, when people post that they 100k invested because of 3-4motors 2-3 transmissions etc I laugh. Unless the car is coming with all those previous engines/trans/parts you do not get 50% back on all those past engines/mods. You're going to have to factor in the stock price of the car plus ABOUT half of the value of mods actually on the car..... I've actually got a deal working to trade my 600rwhp C6Z for a modded 800rwhp C5 plus 15k on his end. Which I personally think is a good deal for both of us. I think he is pretty reasonable on assessing both of our cars values. Then on the other spectrum, I had a C5 owner want to trade his 850+rwhp C5 for my modded C6Z but wanted ME to add cash on top of the deal. I think that's crazy. Not saying that's how you think, but personally (just my opionion, not hating on anyones car) but I think there is about .1% chance that I would consider any heavily modded C5 worth more than a 2007 H/C/I coilover forgeline wheels C6Z.... Sorry if this seems to have no relevance to your thread. In a nutshell, with the market the way it is, if you can't get 30-35k for it, I would just keep it and enjoy it!! Sounds like an awesome car, I would offer to trade you my car, but 1.) don't know if you're interested in trades and 2.) I don't think I'm going to get a better deal than already offer on a C5 trade... But obviously I wouldn't want 15k on top of the trade for your car.
***EDIT**** just realized your's is the one already posted for sale with the 5.3 only rated to 900 with H beam rods for 45k. Good luck my friend. Hope you get what your asking!

Rated for 1100 with main studs. Anyway. Like I said not the average build that should sell for 30-35k. Cost more to do the built tr6060 swap then a simple built t56. Wide body two seta of welds. Custom turbo kit no expense spared. Not a off the shelf blower kit. Anyway I'm not selling anymore anyway.

The big question is how much extra would a buyer pay for the modifications vs a comparable stock car? I think this car is fantastic, but I don't think I could talk myself into paying more than $10k over. Even that amount makes me pucker a little, but I hate buying into stuff that you can't turn around and sell easy without taking a bath. It could be worse though, it could be an airplane...
The next question is how much is a 100k mile 02 Z06 worth? Even assuming great condition?

Get out and don't look back! For <1000 whp the Corvette is an awesome platform but for big power it's just not the right platform for so many reasons.
If I got $40k for my car I would sell it, go buy a GTR and never own a car with RWD or a manual again
