Default Refreshing the little motor that could...

My little 347 is at the machine shop..started idling at 18lbs oil pressure..with this stock crank,bone stock 243 heads with ls6 intake and throttle body has been living a rough life for over 3 years.2 1/2 years over 900rwhp.lets hope this new setup can take a beating..

Sounds like it did good! Strengthen up the rest of it and see if it will last longer.

Basically the same engine with ported heads,good crank,higher compression,e85 and water 2air cooler
It didn't hurt any of the piston or rods..

No bent crank..bearings was starting to come apart from oring on suction tube being ripped..crank looks great

assuming stock idle of 550rpm, 18psi hot is normal w/ 5w30.
I doubt your bearings were coming apart due to this oil pressure...probably normal wear considering the use.
900whp on stock engine...gotta love these motors!

9.15@158 track was crap tho..

Wisco piston with compstar rods

Good luck with the new setup! BTW, that wasn't "the littile motor that could"...... it was the little motor that DID! Always admired what ya were able to accomplish with that setup.
