Default N2O to PSI Build

I got the below car a few months back and have been having fun with it ever since.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-c...-98-in-nc.html

The car was fun in this trim, but I want the power all the time.

So, now I have a pulled the trigger on the majority of the "big" items to get this thing swapped over to boost.

I picked up:
A&A Ti kit with 8 rib and secondary drive
A&A stage 1 fuel system with 80s
Tick Blower cam/springs
Ls6 intake
Wideband, Boost, and fuel pressure gauges

Also selling my "street" wheels and picked up some 17" Weld RTS's.

Goals are to initially not slow down from my nitrous times and eventually try to get the most out of the setup while having a car that is much more fun on the street.

Should be a fun time along the way and I am sure I will have a bunch of questions for you guys during the process.

Nice car and hopefully you have a smooth and quick transition from the bottle to boost. I was leary going from a nitrous 416 to a twin turbo'd 6 liter. But man it is so much fun and smoother/broader powerband now. I should have done it years ago.

Thanks man!

I have had nitrous'd LSx cars for years but this will be my first venture into boost.

I am hoping the process goes well since I am not trying to "reinvent the wheel" and am going with proven components.

Default What?

Couple of months?
Jump on it and get that bad boy going. I am actually pretty excited to see another boosted C5 in this area. I may need to steel some of your ideas and tips. That could be a lot cheaper than the trial and era ways I am used to.

I am going to have Clyde do the install/tune and he is a week or so backed up. I also don't have any need to rush anything so I am just going to let it happen when it happens.

I'm pretty sure I will be pushing the stock bottom limits with a 3.25 blower pulley and OD balancer, so we will probably go conservative on the tune to start.

Default Boost

I did run 13 psi with 14 timing and A/F 11.1 with my stock bottom end, but I also run 100% meth. the meth may have been the band aid,,,,?

I know nothing about the A&A kit, but it seems you may be on the higher side of the boost range for a stock bottom end. I have 3 different restrict-or plates you are welcome to if you need to use them. I started out with 9psi, went to 11psi and then 13. With my new motor, I will no longer use the plate as I plan to run more boost.

The Ti trim is essentially the same blower/specs as your Novi 2K.

I will be running 100% meth as well.

I would be interested in at least taking a look at the restrictors, but I doubt it would work with the A&A intake tract. It would be worth checking out though if you aren't going to use them anymore.

Thanks man.

Yea, I can't think of anyone I would rather have working on my car. He is VERY knowledgeable and a great guy as well.

Default Plates

I will put 2 of the restrictor plates in my truck, and have them with me at all times here in Huntsville. Just call me someday when you are threw here, and I will meet you and give them to you.
I am going to use the largest plate (nets me 13psi) on my car for the first couple hundred miles while the New engine is being broken in, then I will remove it for more boost and a final tune. And then again, not sure where my boost level will go, because now I have a completely new different engine with a larger set of after market heads. End the end, I opted for more than 9.7-1 CR with the new engine, and ditched the 317's. I had a set of after market heads built for a 10.2-1 CR.

Sounds like it will be a fun ride!

What heads did you end up with?

I'll holler at you about meeting up the next time I head to hsv during the week.

Doing some stuff to make it nicer while I wait on the go fast junk to come together.

c6Z seats
Black belts
Re-dye carpet

Here are the old seats.

One new one thrown in for pics.

I'll do the carpet tomorrow and then bolt the seats in when the new belts come in.

And a quick idle video of the current setup.

No clue on can specs, but it sounds nice so I may throw it in my WS6 after I get the blower can in this one.

New seats and belts in.

Blower should be going on after LS Fest.

Making Progress.

Swapped to an XS Power 3 inch exhaust setup. It's loud.

And now we are at the point of no return on the blower swap.

Got the nitrous removed, blower cam in, balancer installed, and starting on the secondary drive. He ran into some hiccups with the secondary drive since I don't have AC. I think I have the needed pieces found locally and we should be making progress again shortly.

Wow,,,,,,, that thing sounds good,,, AND LOUD.

I still have the Ti catback in which I know has to be killing my car, but my chick will not allow anything louder. Clyde and I was talking a few days ago, and I told him because of my Ti's and 3.15 gears, I was going to have to except I may not be able to run with the big boys.......
So I will start my negotiations now,,,,,, I need links!

Thanks. I imagine everything will change drastically with the new cam and blower, but it did have an aggressive idle tone for the 2 days before it was torn down haha.

It is the xspower 3inch system with 3 inch mid pipes form Huron Speed made to mate with a C6Z xpipe.
