I had a supercharged car in the past and there were a lot more maintenance/reliability issues to contend with. In my opinion at the 450-500 hp level H/C is the way to go.
Good to hear. I know ported 243's are no afr 205's... But my flow numbers on my heads are damn near identical. And I plan on running a pretty healthy cam (235/239 .625 lift) and a fast 92. I actually have a 102 manifold but heard multiple people have had fitment issues...

If you're looking for fuel economy and reliability, you might want to go a little more conservative on the cam. The 243's were the only game in town for quite a while and should work fine for you. With my small cam and 4.10 gears I get 26 mpg on the highway and the valve springs aren't overly stressed. I've heard of the fitment issues with the FAST intake. I am just using an LS6 intake.

Whichever option you choose, I'm positive you'll enjoy the newfound power.

I know once it's cammed gas mileage will drop, but the car only sees a few thousand miles a year so a drop in mpg isn't all that important. And I'm going to sell my 102 and pick up a 92 which from what I've heard has no fitment issues

Any one who is worried about decrease in MPG shouldn't modify a V8

We have sold and installed a ton of superchargers on stock C5s with ZERO issues. If your conservative with your tune you will have ZERO issues. I have customers with over 100K on their motors when they installed the SC and there has been ZERO issues.

Quick Reply: h/c/i or supercharger??
