Clutch for 600rwhp?
As I inch closer and closer to getting my supercharger shipped and installed I have a couple questions. I'm currently running an LS7 clutch on my car. How well will that clutch hold up? If not well enough which clutch would you guys recommend? Thanks

That should hold up just fine. You've already got it in the car. Might as well give it a test. If it didn't hold up for any reason, you're not going to destroy it and render it useless. It'll slip, you'll see your RPM jump and then you spend the money. If it works out (which I believe it will), you will have saved a ton of money. .

I went with an RPS twin disc carbon and it's lasted for two and a half years under some pretty conditions. My pilot bearing went out about 9 months ago so I also added a Tick Remote Bleeder...

Ya that LS7 won't take the abuse. Check out the LT1-S rated at 700 RWHP and will drive like a stock clutch. Give us a shout and we can get you a good deal.

I run a Mantic twin in my car. I love it, I currently DD the car everyday and blast down the highway or track on the weekends when I am off. Car holds power great, and hasn't slipped once.
402 W/YSI and 2.7" pulley(soon to be 2.6").

Honestly pretty good. When it was over 100* it got a little grabby, but it's still very manageable. I keep the clutch fluid clean and it keeps the Pedal and driveability very very good IMO.

No problem man. I've been up there a couple times for either a KC2K or mustang f-body event, and the occassional weekend get away when the gf needs something from the plaza or legends lol.

Here is what we recommend for different levels of power.
h/c car's an LS7 is fine for 99% of the people out there, if you want to really start drag racing a lot step up to something a little better.
500-650 rwhp I would do the Mantic single disc
650-800 I would do the Mcleod RST
800-1000 go for the Mcleod RXT
1000+ either the RPS triple or Mcleod Street twin.
We would be happy to go over all the options over the phone, pm, or email and run some unbeatable pricing on mcleod units.

I went with the RXT even though I'm not [yet] making power in that range, and to borrow a quote from Joe, "it laughs in my face no matter what I throw at it". Very near stock feel, and I've got headroom to grow.
PS Joe sold it to me and installed it. If you're local, he'll treat your car like it's his own if you need work done.

i'm at 680/600 on my setup and I'm running the Textralia OZ700 with HD pressure plate. Supposed to be good for 800 ft lbs. I have a Tick M/C and it makes for a heavy pedal. I plan to go with the Mcleod twin when this one is done.
