Default Anybody in middle Tennessee have a roots blower on their C5?

Anybody in middle Tennessee have a roots blower on their C5?

Looking to meet up with someone who has a roots style blower (magnacharger) on their C5 who wouldn't mind showing it off a bit and maybe let me go with them for a short ride to see if it is my cup of tea. I have been in a c5 with a centri before but never a roots style.

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff these cars don't like a roots blower. Heat problems and IAT problems unless you look at the 2200 set up.

Hi Robert! How ya been man? 2200? Isnt' the new 2300TVS out now and I thought it addressed and fixed those issues? Says on their site only 20-40 degrees higher in IATs over ambient temperature?

I just really wanted to go for a ride in one just to see what it was all about. I know they are not very popular on here but I have seen a few people that don't complain at all about them. Pewter I know has one and a guy called M_T_I on here has one also. 533hp and 528 tq which is plenty for me lol

on the 2300 tvs. Back a few yrs I had the Kenne Bell on the car. It really was great out of the hole if you want to just burn the tires off the car. But full boost at 3200 rpm.

I pulled the KB off due to the heat plus wanted more power out of it plus for it to come on are work more on the top end.

If you want something in the power range of the 2300 tvs and will never look at no more power. That would be a good way to go on the car.

Is there a roots style blower that fits the C5 that can make big power? Say 800rwhp on a forged bottom? Or maybe even a 402?

I really dont think so that is not without putting a ton of more money into it on extra parts for that set up.

I had a Kenne bell that I got from TPE new, bigger cam that what Jeff said he had in his car that he said he made just over 800 RWHP. I made less than 700 RWHP. Plus that was with his tune that was in his so called 800 KB set up. This was on a 402 LS2 build motor with TF 225 heads also... Robert

yes I am running a stock bottom end , the car had a cold air kit on it when I bought it , and a 88mm throttle body . I bought roller tip rockers and a 10 rib TCI setup for my belt. hoping 4 10 to 12 psi of boost . I will start bolting things on tomorrow afternoon . still waiting 4 my fuel pumps so until they show up I cant fire it

Come on guys...has to be someone within a 100 mile radius of Nashville that has a roots blower on a c5?

My supercharger itch is getting bad! I just want to go for a ride before making this big decision.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

Short of attempting to use an Edelbrock kit, I would probably steer clear of this and use an ECS kit.

Unless you are just up for reinventing the wheel.

Can't help with the ride as I am in Florida but, I love my TVS2300 setup. I am right at 500rwhp and 513wtq on an 02Z06 at 10# of boost. Blower been on for going on 2 years now. Only trouble I have had is with the crummy install job ( wish I had done it myself, I will from now on), other than keeping traction
