Default 5PSI Procharged setups here

I have a 2001 Vert with a Procharger running 5psi, as well as a cat back magnaflow exhaust. I will be installing LG longtube headers and going for a retune and hope to hit the 500hp mark. I know many members have gone to the 7-8psi but I would love to have anyone running 5psi especailly on the LS1 to chime in with their setups and results.

Thanks

I don't run 5 psi, but unless you have other things done to the car, 500 will be tough to hit at the wheels at 5psi. (200hp increase) Why not pulley down and run around 7psi?

I have 435HP running 6 PSI with stock engine with P1SC-1 on a 99 Coupe with Auto. Depends on the shape of your engine, 5 to 6 PSI is on the safe side

5psi on a stock motor. What is the pulley size? 6.3? Just kidding.

Keep in mind 5psi on a stock motor is different than 5psi on a more efficient motor with better heads, headers, etc. Boost is a measure of restriction.

Your current 5psi without headers will likely drop with headers( more efficient motor). What is your current pulley size and power with it now on 5psi?

5-6psi (4.25" pulley, A&A)
Dart pro 1 heads
228/232 .571/.573 112
Fast intake, ls2 TB
Yella Terra rocker arms
BBK shorty headers
3.42, yank ss3600

I haven't been to a dyno though (I tuned it myself w/ hp tuners), but i suspect 500-550 whp?

This is at the wheels correct?

I'm considering something similar on a totally stock 2K FRC, though pulleying down some and running a restrictor plate to improve the midrange while limiting boost to 5 - 6 PSI on a ultra - conservative tune for reliability's sake with the stock drivetrain.

Going to be higher than 500!
You have the same heads (mine are ported) larger cam than I had (224/224) and I have long tubes instead of shorties, but with 10psi, I was at 702rwhp with my old set up. (a4,, 3500 stall)

My old setup was a stock bottom end 98 (which has the weaker rod bolts) and I pushed to 702hp and it ran great until I pulled it for a forged bottom end. I just kept my rpms to 6100 max and all was well.
I will definitely handle more than 5

Yeah I used a&a chart for my belt size. I'm sure procharger can tell you. I have a d1sc but it's on there bracket not sure what if any difference there would be but I would still ask. Btw with headers you are going to lose a pound or 2 of boost. Let that bitch breathe

What version of the bracket do you have? (photo please)
There was a lot of revisions to that bracket, though the bracket that has been used for the last 7+ years, has been outstanding with lots of great results.

Most guys on pump fuel run those cars on 7-9psi, with exhaust mods and custom tuning.
Let it breath, and enjoy the boost.
