Hey guys,
Dropped the car off for the upgrades today. Looking for opinions on a topic that's been beat to death: 100% meth vs 50/50 meth/water. Before we get into religious beliefs, let me put some facts out related to my situation:
- v3SI with headers is set for 10* @ WOT due to 135*+ IATs and 91 octane. I've logged the car and I'm confident in the tuner. I believe he has it right.
- Stock heads/compression ratio. 3.48" pulley, ~10psi.
- HP suffers of course: 460whp/440tq, which is why I'm adding meth.
- Goal is 520-550whp. I don't really want more than that until I can harden some other components. So I'm NOT designing/configuring for max effort, just need to overcome IAT/91octane limits with boost.
Interested in opinions/facts. It is an Alkycontrol kit so 100% meth is an option.

You will be able to run more timing and it will to pickup more HP
I also run 91 Octane and 100% Methanol (Alkycontrol Meth Kit)

Did u have it dynoed before the install??? U will usually see a 175 hp increase 500 rwhp is not at all hard to reach with the a&a kit I have a 98 all stock but B&B cat back 6 SPd, 11lbs boost at 6500 and 15 degrees timing and it put down 520 at the wheels 468 trq I would go see another tuner U should be well over 500 with those mods

Spoke with Julio tonight. Me made very short work of the question for me. 100% meth it is.
Cam and valve train work is done. They started the car today. Meth kit going in now.

I talked with Joe about running meth and Im at a crossroad. Since the MAF is maxed I would need a whole new speed density tune, meth kit, install, pulley down. Not sure if Im ready to put more money into it yet. Sure is tempting after seeing your numbers though.

Thought I'd share a log snippet. Lots of stuff going on here:
1) Ignore the WB AEM line. The wire wasn't plugged in to the MVPI EIO.
2) Boost hit 11psi. Was a little shocked to see this. You can see it hit 11 in the histogram twice. 9-10 otherwise.
3) Injector duty cycle spiked to 95%. I've neer seen that before. Really nothing > 80%.
4) Check out the IATs dropping while spraying meth They go from 86* before getting into boost to 72* at the end of this run.
What do you guys make of the TPS dips (blue circles) to the right of the cursor? Car was in competitive mode for this log. Are those TPS dips active handling kicking in? Seem like odd places for that to happen?
