Default current cam "usable" SAFELY with an SC?

Currently I have a Thunder Racing 224r 112 lsa cam with ported and slightly milled 853 heads waiting to go on my '99 ls1. The cam specs are 224/224 .563/.563 112 lsa. Heads were milled .030" I believe (need to check but too lazy to dig out the paper work). Previous owner of the set up was getting ~440 rwhp with other supporting mods (LS6 intake, ported tb, LT headers, high flow cats) on an LS1 F body. I've seen the dyno sheets and I know that the heads and cam on my '99 FRC will make it feel like a different car. But what I am most curious about is will that cam be usable SAFELY with an SC if I decide to go that route in the future? I realize that there are better SC cams out there but I really happen to like the sound and feel of the 224r and heads set up so not sure I want to get a different cam. Any insight to the pros and/or cons of what I am thinking would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It will be fine. I ran almost the same cam in my 98 with P1SC and D1SC prochargers. Performed great!

Thanks for the responses. Just curious...what kind of numbers were you putting down at the wheels?

A well respected tuner on this forum always says that if a cam makes good power N/A, it'll make good power F/I.....even thought there a specific cams for F/I that'll make more ....

More specifically a cam that makes good power NA will make good power in a centi or nitrous vehicle.

I've heard that too but in my case my NA cam would turn into a valvetrain shredder if I put a blower on it.

It will work and it will need to be tuned in (of course) on the Dyno -

That is one heck of a choppy cam you got -

Me and my buddy just slapped a 113 LSA with duration in the 240's and 61x lift int. and 62x lift exh. - that thing is choppy and fat and sounds wicked!

Running it with a D1SC, 3.4" Pulley, 10.2:1 compression, AFR 205 heads, on a freshly built 347 motor and getting the break-in miles on it now!

I'm thinking he should be in the 760+ RWHP range easily! (Mine with a small baby blower cam and an A4 w/3.42 gears is hitting 734 RWHP)

Thanks,Matt

Here is a youtube video of almost the same cam but from texas speed...yeah, it should be nice and lumpy and sound even more aggressive with my SLP Loudmouth pipes.

As long as you aren't running into valve float with the current springs it should be fine. You have slightly more overlap with the 12 but not that much duration or lift.
I say run it. Its already there and paid for. you can always change it if you want more power.
