Default Stock cam 1999 vs 2000

Bought a 1999 LS1 long block that's replacing my broken 2000 block. Seems the cam was changed from 1999 to 2000.

Year, Engine | Valve Lift | Duration | Lobe Separation | Timing
1997-1999 LS1 | .479/.472 | 207/199 | 117 | 113/121
2000 LS1 | .500/.500 | 209/198 | 115.5 | 112/119

My stock 2000 cam is sitting on a shelf and since I'm replacing the timing chain before the motor goes in I was wondering if it's worth swapping in. I plan to go with the Edlebrock 2-piece timing chain cover to make it easier to swap out if I decide later.

I'm guessing it's probably not worth more than 15 HP even under boost so I'm thinking it's not worth the hassle for now.

Not really worth it. I would find a stock zo6 cam.

I agree; You proably wont be able to tell the difference.
Go with a cam and spring set for a bigger difference. There are always some on here for sale (I just sold a great set up)
It is a LOT easier now than it will be after that steering rack is in

I say I won't change the cam but you know how that goes. I plan to use an Edelbrock 2-piece timing cover to make it easier later. I don't have budget now but new radiator, guages, etc I'm thinking next year. Maybe I'll do the cam then.

Maybe I'll move my RHS heads to the new setup. Also have upgraded rockers/trunions, LS7 lifters and new trays with about 10k miles. OK to reuse that stuff?
