Default Switch from borla stingers to z06 Ti mufflers lose power?

I have stingers on my car right now with at JT trim at 15psi, I would really like to quiet the car down a bit as it has longtubes, catless x and stingers with a MS4 cam, it sounds nasty, but a bit on the loud side... Will the Ti mufflers be a restriction, if I get them I will most likely do the bypass mod with 1-1/2" Ti tubing

Thoughts?

You shouldnt loose any with the bypass. Without it you would maybe loose a few but nothing noticeable I bet.

I am curious to see if anyone else has noticed a difference in rwhp between a Ti and non-oem catback.

I just went from Ti to Corsa Pace to Corsa Touring.

I was pushing 734 RWHP on my A4 through the TI's - they are great and non restrictive!

I did an Autopsy on the Titanium mufflers, it's amazing on how well these flow and keep things quiet!

Thanks,Matt

I keep blowing the gaskets between my Kooks 3" and my Ti catback......yes, I believe they are a restriction. They only flow as much as the 2.25 tube will flow. In no way do they flow more than larger diameter tube. Muffler isn't any more free flowing than the other aftermarket designs.

I picked up just a little hp putting my ti's back and taking my stingers off. It was like 8hp nothing crazy could have been the day also. But I have a YSi setup with ti's and it sounds just right. Quiet driving around and rowdy when your in it. Well the blower is mainly what you hear until I mash the gas

Edit no bypass either

I have modded Ti's on one of mine and love it! Besides how light they are! But have Corsa's on the race car and love them too but they are boat anchors, lmao!

+1

Although people have made killer power through stock Ti exhaust, there is no way it is NOT restrictive to some degree. Considering its 2.5" pipe INTO the muffler, then it makes a horse shoe turn inside the muff as it goes through some baffles and a 2" hole, it HAS to be restrictive...

Look at this crap, how can this possibly flow?

In the NA/Musclecar world, we would NEVER run muffs with this design and restriction, and that is on <700 crank hp setups.... I could only imagine what a car making 1000 crank HP is probably losing.

I have never A-B-A tested any of this but.....I would be very interested to see some real world tests.

I run a XSP 3" cat back system with big case muffs and I still wonder how restrictive they are....

Tis? Mine seem to do good 148mph in the 1/4, I always wondered how much could I gain from 3''? I really love the sound and its really making enough power for me.

someone please do a comparison.

I made over 900 WHP through Ti exhaust. I'm sure it will make over 1,000 WHP.

Take that for what it's worth.

Yes lots of people have made 900+ thru TIs.... But, could they have made 950-975 with a straight thru style muffler like a bullet or magnaflow?

That is my point, seems like no one tests this.

I pulled my TIs off right from the start because I doubted their flow efficiency.. However with not ever seeing inside of the XSP 3" muffs, I cannot attest to them being any better design inside, other then they are 3"... They could neck down inside as well.. Not sure. I think the LG big 3 is a good option but you still have the 180* direction change of the flow in the muffler (like most C5 muffs), that's always gonna hurt you.

Now, we picked up speed replacing the TI's with Corsa's in the 04. It wasn't much.

Have no real dyno before and after numbers but the results at the track with an N/A motor resulted in better times and sound!
