The engine was built by a local machine shop that I've dealt with many many times without issue and with their bread and butter being engines for off shore race boats I'm confident their's nothing wrong with the engine.

I was the one that installed the engine and all of the other components.

The car ran perfectly with the mail order tune I got for the initial start up, and had zero issues for the first 1000 miles that I did for a break in. The problems only surfaced after the dyno tune was done. Since that was the case, I figured it was obviously something that was done during the tune that was screwing stuff up. So, I pulled the computer and had it retuned by another reputable shop to hopefully correct the problem. Unfortunately it hasn't, so either something was messed up by tuner #1 and tuner #2 didn't find it, or the tune is fine and I have another issue.

I'm not looking to start a confrontation with the company where I had the car dyno tuned and was not at all happy with the service I got from them, so I'd rather cut my loses with them and have it fixed by someone else. At this point it's not about the money.

So, let me count:

1. There's an engine builder

2. There's an engine installer / owner

3. There's a first tuner

4. There's a second tuner

5. And there's a commenter like me in a public forum

Way too many variables.

You can't solve this in an internet forum.

I undestand and I would probably ask for help as well in this forum. But without "being there" to investigate your car, the problem is just too challenging with the information available.

If the motor was only driven easy during the 1000 mile break in, there still could have been a mechanical issue that didn't appear until you started pushing it hard. That doesn't mean something didn't break during / as a result of the tune, it only means the 1000 mile break in doesn't prove the motor was fine.

Even the Pro's make mistakes. I had a shop that builds motors for pro motox teams completely F-up an easy bore on my cylinder :-(

That makes sense.
Motor could also still be fine and the WOT could have taken out a supporting part, such as the CATS.

I've confirmed that the reluctor ring has spun. Engine's coming apart again this week.

Thanks for the insight as always.

If it's a 24x fit a 1 piece billet ring and weld it to the crank.

Likewise, 58x weld it to the crank too.

No idea who even makes them afraid.

I just see loads of posts with people having trouble with the OEM 2 piece on the likes of Tech and Bullet forums.

The OEM 24x is just very poor in every respect, more so if you use high rpm's

I haven't had glowing headers since I was a kid adjusting points, yikes! Glad you got it narrowed down!
