Default Stock hood clearance?

I am in the process of building a blown 427 and I've been looking at some different options for an intake manifold. I've looked at a Victor Jr. With a elbow and the Holley mid-rise intake but I'm not sure if that would fit under my hood.

Does anyone know the distance from the top of the block to the bottom of the stock hood? Any info is much appreciated.

I can tell you that the Victor Jr. won't fit. I don't expect the holley mid-rise will either.

How high do you want to spin the motor, if below 7k the Fast 102 will work fine.

Also the Fast 102 height would be a good template for a custom built intake. (with stock hood)

Custom intakes to fit under stock hood can be made to match your cam power ban, etc. for around 4k

If you want to get fancy, you could make shorter motor mounts & lower the cradle some, but that lowers the headers also, which could be shortened.

Cheaper to get a raised hood, like a maggie hood, a lot more intake options available.

The victor Jr with Aaron's elbow doesn't fit?

I could go with the fast but a plastic manifold just scares me haha I know they rate them up to 30psi or so but still

Definitely not spending 4 grand on a intake manifold lol

The holley mid rise is 10.44 inches tall but I don't know how much room I have to work with because my car is up on a lift right now that I can't get at

Blown with what?

You're probably not gonna see over 22# with 427 anyway.

If you can wait, this Fast will be available soon.

That's only about 4.5" too tall for a stock hood.

The F2 will fit fine, the Vic Jr and elbow needs a 2.5" or bigger high rise hood.
