Default FML: Think I've got that 7 cylinder model now

Did a little racing on saturday. First time at the strip with maybe 4,000 miles on my new forged motor. Ran just fine for several races, then started smoking (bluish) out the exhaust with a bad miss. I popped the hood and it had obviously puked oil out the PS breather. Sure enough it was puffing pretty good out of the valve cover with the cap off. It ran ok given the miss, guages looked ok, Torque app didn't show any codes, so I drove it home.

Pulled the DS plugs on Sunday and they were all a little oily. 7 looked intact but fouled. 5 had the ground electrode broken off, but didn't really look like it had been smacked. Today I checked compression. On the third try I got a working gauge from vatozone.
DS Front to back:
#1 160
#3 130
#5 160
#7 0.0000000

I'm so diasappointed I can't even put it into words. Pity me, brothers.

So what you you think caused no 7 to fail ?

Sounds like you have the Cyl #7 blues. Many of us have experienced that cylinder fail in some way, shape or form.

When you get it torn down, failure diagnosed, rebuilt and running again try to go one range colder on the plug in the number 7 cylinder. Good luck man.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I hope you do good forensics so that you're able to determine the cause and avoid a repeat it in the future.

I've already experienced 7 failing on the stock motor. It shouldn't have happened like this.

Sorry to hear about the damage.

600 rwhp what year is the car, i.e. does it have the side mount or top mount fuel pump? More than 1/4 tank, but less than 1/2 tank?

Any other details on the fuel system or combo? Is the car meth injected?

You mentioned that the 7 cylinder mod occured on the stock engine. What was different about this build vs the last combination?

Sorry for your luck, ya said forged motor? Did ya lose the stock LS in the same way? Well, I know how ya feel, losing a motor sucks no matter how it happens. What was the setup on the new motor?

Good luck finding out the cause and hope your back at it soon,

PC

Going to need more than a plug change to keep from blowing a forged motor in 4k miles @600rwhp.
