Default New updated TT427 LSX version, Tarzan !

So unfortunately my car suffered a catastrophic engine failure at the beginning of the season. Short story, she went lean causing MAJOR internal damage,so I pulled it apart and sat down to decide where to go from here. The limitations on the TTix kit I had on the car were roughly 1100 RWHP due to T3 manifolds and a lack of space for bigger turbine housings. But,like always,I wanted more !! ;D Pulled the engine, with a bit of help(thanks son !)Then,we sold off the old turbo system, heads, block, crank, intake and injectors,NOS system, virtually everything under the hood. Kinda starting with a clean slate.

This will be a full on,stem to stern, redo(with the exception of the cage/rear suspension/trans and diff,at least for now !) New parts have been floating in for the last month, but yesterday I got a wonderful surprise when the big Yellow freight truck backed up to the shop !

And whats in the crate ?
A brand new 427 LSX,fresh from LME after a long summer of selling, saving, swapping, scraping. I managed to swing a professional built boost ready shortblock ! Full of Wiseco pistons,Callies ultra beam rods,Callies dragonslayer crank,1/2 in head studs, billet crank reluctor,ARP studs, the works. A new heart for Tarzan ! ;D

Bryan at LME did a GREAT job,the engine looks perfect, full build sheet was included as well as break-in instructions. He did a great job,on time, and worked with me at my pace during the build(as well as multiple revisions as the project got out of hand ! ) Thanks LME !!!

Add a pretty set of valve covers, next in line, the new turbo headers ! This setup will be forward mounted as I am also going with a bit bigger set of turbos to feed the 427 properly .

Waiting on the head studs then to begin assembling the long block.

A set of generic forward mount headers will (hopefully) be the basis of a forward mount setup.Worst case,I have a local guy who will fab up some for me in the event these dont meet my needs.

1 7/8" primary tubes,SS forward mount headers, going to v-band adapters, then to custom fabbed midpipes to the turbos themselves. This IS after all,a Budget build !

These things should move some serious air ! I just hope I can fit this all under the hood.

Thats about it for tonight,I will add some updates as some additional goodies roll in in the next week or so.The plan is to install a mock up engine to fit the headers, downpipes and tubing, then send everything off to be coated while I finish the long block assembly and install. Tomorrow,we shall discuss fueling the beast !

Gonna be a nasty build.
Why didn't you go with 7675 Billet ? Since you're looking for 1300+rwhp and you already have the big engine to fast spool them and keep making power 6500+rpm.
I'm building something similar 408ci LSX with Twin Billet 7675 or PTE7275 Not sure on the turbos yet the Persicion is very expensive.

Which valve covers are those?
Keep us posted man.

Op, you probably already have plans to but make sure you open those suckers up so the crankcase can breath!

I have the same ones on mine, and modified for 2 -10AN bungs. I love the covers. Good price, and they clear a big valvetrain with ease.

Still waiting on a few more items. The Brown truck DID bring a few more goodies though. As for the turbo selection. I went over the combo in depth with the guys at Forced Inductions,we had originally planned a set of 7268s but I am at 4500 ft and we see DA around 8000+ regularly during the summer so they suggested a bigger compressor side. I suspect to compensate for the lack of air here. I hope it works,I can always swap them over if the car is a dog !

Anyway,I received the wastegates and BOVs today,a pair of 50mm JGS,for each side.

Since I plan to "test" the upper end of the boost levels of this combo,I felt that the current FAST92 manifold may be both a restriction as well as a possible liability due to the bolt together design. Since, once again, this is a budget build,I opted for a cheap, simple, solution ! Edelbrock Pro Flo XT ! With the addition of some minor porting and my 90mm TB this should safely contain whatever boost levels I try to explore !
