I hear ya. I know the weight part sucks, but that 4.8/5.3 iron block is about the stoutest factory block you can get. If any factory block is going to take big boost and keep the heads planted it is that one.

I was mad but its going to hold the boost a bit better and hold the heads down better. The turbo will make the power its been proven to do so before. Also being rear mount it seems to allow the turbo to make more then front mount. Seems to not have as much back pressure. I mean we pulled on this turbo already on the stock motor. Peaked around 63-6400 and flatlined to 6800 no fall off at all. That was almost 24lbs. That should e close to enough to make the 1k mark on the good gas.

I am surprised you wanted a aluminum block to begin with. The weight difference is nil and they are way more stout.
As for that turbo making over 1000, I think that should be not an issue. I have seen way more than that on one.

I wouldn't call 100 lbs on the nose nill, but if you don't track the car its not such a big deal. The good thing is the turbo weight is out back for him already. I know that turbo can make the power, but I usually see it done on smaller engines. I have friends running two of these turbos on a 377 sbc into the 4's. I hope it does well and can't wait to see the results. I might build something like this for a friend since it worked out so well for you. Good stuff!

Awesome numbers congrats man.
5.3 with 7175 turbo with safe 900rwhp is amazing looking forward for the videos
From the graph it looks like it spooling great too.
What size injectors are you running?
I can't wait to dyno mine 383ci PT88

went from 7175 .81 to 7675 .96 compression is almost the same 9.7-9.8 heads were dart 205s not much work if any. They are cracked though. Think they were cracked when i got then from my buddy.
New plan is tfs 220s or afr 210s, cam may be usable or fixable if not new cam. new lifters and 25-28lbs. should do 1050-1100. Would have done 950 on the same boost just was on low timing till we stopped adding boost.

It spools great maybe a little slower then the 7175 but we also started the pulls at higher rpms then last time so looks like it spools later. With the q16 we should be able to max this turbo out without detonation.
