Default Please Help with LS1 MagnaCharger

I purchased a '99 base last year that already had a Magnuson Supercharger on it. I was not aware that the supercharger originally came with a handheld tuner, which I did not receive when I purchased the car. Is this something that I can buy used, or does it have to be new? Is the only compatible tuner the one from Magnuson, or are there aftermarket tuners that will work?

Thank you!

Get the car to a good tuner, will be much better off with a good tuner here. No two cars are the same so with that said IF YOU get a GOOD tuner that knows what he is doing you will be HAPPY here..

always get a custom tune if you can. not only will that tune be written for the specific mods you have, but it can also be tailored to your driving style

With all of the above. The handheld is a good starting point, but that's it.

the tuner gets the car running if the car is 100% stock....after that you really need a tune done by a reputable tuner....the handheld that came with it you really don't need....

You do not need the hand held to tune the car. A good tuner/shop can tune the car with no problems. You can buy another tuner if you want or software like HP tuners but if you don't know how tune then its not worth doing that.

Thank you everyone for the input! Now I'm going to sound like a real novice here...once I get the car tuned, will it be reset to the factory settings if the battery dies or is disconnected?
