I've seen a few posts on here about the issues people have had when running 2" long tubes and getting their a/c line to fit, and Brett (blownblue) had a great idea with a revamped line. I thought I would share what has worked for me and its a cheap fix.

I was having a hell of a time getting my new a/c line installed when I first got this thing going last year and I actually ended up bending one of the fittings (that goes into the compressor) therefore causing a leak. I kept thinking to myself that there had to be an easier way to get that damn line in around those big *** headers w/out having to loosen all the header and collector bolts. Well I was sitting on the floor with the car on jack stands replacing the brakes when it hit me like a ton of bricks. The opening between the cradle and frame rail there looked to have enough room to wiggle the old line out and the new one in. Well I picked up a new line yesterday and it literally took me 5 minutes to get the old line out and the new one slid into place! Now granted its still kinda of a PITA to get to the bolt and get it snugged up, but this was so much easier than trying to work the line in from the top Also to get rid of the chance of burning through the rubber portion of the line (it is right against the header) I kept the heat shield that comes on it, but I wrap it up tight (there is quite a bit of excess on the aftermarket line) and I put a layer of DEI heat wrap on it. I did the same thing on the first line (it has been on since I finished the build last March) and had no burn holes in the heat wrap I'm sure someone else has already done this, but I haven't read it anywhere and wanted to share.

I just cut my line and had it rewelded a different angle and a new longer line added...cisted me $50 at some ac big truck place and its been good for bout 1.5 years...dont rember it being a big issie to install either

I have Kooks headers and it was next to impossible getting the block part of the line between the header and compressor when trying to put the line in from the top.

I bent the stock AC line some and wrapped my headers, no problems here.

Had no a/c line issues with the 2" ARH units.

best i can do.. when i put it back on the lift, ill try to get a better pic.. but you see it going towards the front and then up and around the header... 2 years no issues now,,

Here you go.. i also circled the route of the hose and the header for your enjoyment.. i hope this helps with those late nights your guys have in PR!!! I guess you could say us Texas boys do it longer then everyone else and here is the pictures to prove it!!

how about using braided lines for that line? that is actually a very low pressure line right there. 40-60psi...

mine hit and burned through it this weekend...dam 2" headers..removed the line and gonna use heat shield tubing were its rubber

Paul you need to also move that stock line as much as possible befor just putting heat rap onto it. I did the same thing and it still burn thur it. I got BLOWNBLUEZO6 his guy made me a totally diff line got it all mover over like the other guy in here as it in the drawing.
