I am going to be replacing a few seals in my forged ls6 due to the crankcase pressurizing. Ill be adding a RX Monster catch can to alleviate that problem. While im in there I will be replacing my monster clutch with a Mcleod RXT that Doug(ECS) hooked me up with, adding meth, and pulleying down to a 3.4 from a 3.8. I will also be upgrading the diff with hardened shafts and a brace. My question is, will I have to get a 3 bar map sensor since the 3.8 pulley made 12psi with my setup? If I have to get another sensor, could someone point me in the right direction on how to change it? If you need any other info, let me know. TIA

I guess my question is, can the car be tuned above 14 psi with a stock map sensor?

Doug tuned my car and when I went to SD tune, I needed to get a 2 bar, Doug brought it with him, I think it is a Cobalt sensor? I am at 14lbs if that help you out! I would just shoot Doug a PM and ask him which one to use to be sure! I just got a ZR1 map for my new motor per Dougs recommendation!

Are you currently SD tuned with a 2 bar sensor? You state stock sensor which is confusing.

You should upgrade to the 2bar sensor and 2 bar custom OS.

In the 2 bar OS the kPa limit is 210 kPa if I recall corectly. Please refer to link posted below to determine boost PSI to kPa conversion.

Im an idiot. I thought that I would have to get a 2 bar map sensor and change the OS if going above 14 psi while still using a maf tune. I am not going SD, so i guess my question is not relevant.

I've run 14 psi on a stock OS MAF tune. You just have to use the PE table for fueling. It's definitely not ideal and very old-school, but it can be done. 2-Bar SD on a custom OS is the way to go in order to get your fueling accurate.

You can also run more the 15 psi on a 2-Bar map. The custom OS allows you to control your VE tables at various kpa's. On a centrifugal blower car, you can add in some extra fueling at the top of the 2-bar sensor range and get away with a few extra lbs. of boost.
